February 21, 2016 – Westonka Whirlers “Patriotic Tribute to Presidents” Square Dance, Mound, Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Ray Belanger.  Six squares were present with Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Bonnie, County Line Squares Queen Adrienne, Dakota Grand Squares Queen Rosemarie and King John, Spares & Pairs Queen Jennifer and King Barry, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Vice Chair Don Hanson, and SDM Historian Al Martin.

February 11, 2016 – Wadena Whirlaways “Black & White (chocolate & vanilla)”  and “Graduation” Square Dance, Wadena, Caller Larry Johansen.  Celebrated the graduation of ten new dancers.

February 19, 2016 – Steele Steppers Square Dance, Owatonna, Caller Abe Maier.  Four squares with dancers from County Line Squares and Steele Steppers attended the dance.

February 6, 2016 –  Mainstream Workshop/Blast, Wadena, Caller Larry Johansen.  All 68 mainstream calls were reviewed.  Over four squares in attendance with guests from as far away as Cambridge Corners, Koronis Nite Owls, Rockin’ Country Dancers, and Rays Promenaders. Four hours of dancing and a potluck “lunch” that was more like a feast.  What an awesome way to spend a Saturday!

February 14, 2016 – Ar-Dale Dancers “Swing with Your Sweetie” Square Dance, White Bear Lake, Caller Mike Hogan, Cuer Ken LaBau.  What a fantastic Valentine’s Day dance we had with Mike Hogan and Ken and Barb LaBau!  Mike sang many Love Songs to the almost 18 squares in attendance!  His melodic voice makes dancing so smooth.  Royalty in attendance was our own Bonnie Eidman, along with Myrna Connett from Bloomington Swirlers, Shirlee Feneis from Crystal Crosstrailers, John and Rose Cook from Dakota Grand Squares, Jeanie Schilling from Friendly Twirlers, Kay Duffy from South Metro Stars, Barry and Jennifer Downs from Spares & Pairs, and Mickey and Ben Formanack from Square & Twirl.  Other celebrities in attendance were Federation President Janet Sahlstrom, Federation Member Services Doug Brodeen, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Vice Chair Don Hanson, SDM Secretary Mary Kay Amberg, SDM Treasurer Deb Hollimon, SDM Education Director Bob Meyer, and SDM Historians Al and Cindy Martin.  South Metro Stars retrieved their small banner and Dakota Grand, Crystal Cross Trailers, Friendly Twirlers, Hot Foot Stompers, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers all took home small banners.  All our new dancers came to the dance and had a great time.  We appreciate all the angels from all the clubs who helped them out.
