January 17, 2016 – Westonka Whirlers “Snowmen” Square Dance, Mound, Caller Mike Driscoll, Cuers Jean and Steve Philson.  Eight squares with dancers from seven organizations were present.  Also present were Spares & Pairs Queen Jennifer and King Barry, Dakota Grand Squares Queen Rosemarie and King John, Hot Foot Stompers Queen Julie, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Vice Chair Don Hanson, SDM Secretary Mary Kay Amberg, SDM Historians Al and Cindy Martin, Federation Treasurers Betty and Jerry Elfert.

The door prizes all fit the theme and the season! Steve and Jean Philson received many “warm fuzzies” from the round dancers–always good on a cold day!

Even those who had a health issue that prevented them from dancing came to enjoy the afternoon! For the first time ever, Harlan was not dancing as he is having a knee replacement February 5.

January 4, 2016 – Kaleidoscope Squares “ABC” Square Dance, Rochester, Caller Monte Guenzler.  Hot Dance on a Cold Day!  Twenty-three dancers showed up for Kaleidoscope’s Sunday ABC.  We have nine new dancers signed up for lessons starting next week.

January 10, 2016 – Ar-Dale Dancers “Blizzard Surprise” Square Dance, White Bear Lake, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuer Ken LaBau.  Seven squares with dancers from eight organizations were present.  Also present were Spares & Pairs Queen Jennifer and King Barry, Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Bonnie, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, and SDM Historians Al and Cindy Martin.  Our lessons are going well and the new students are having lots of fun enjoying this new activity.

January 8, 2016 – County Line Squares “Western Night” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Eight squares, including nine new dancers, from Wandering Wheels, Westonka Whirlers, Dakota Grand Squares, Beaux & Belles, Hotfoot Stompers, Dan’se P.A.C., Spares & Pairs, and County Line Squares were present.  Also present were Westonka Whirlers Queen Debbie and escort Fred, Dakota Grand Squares Queen Rosemarie and King John, Kings Club members, SDM Historian Al and Cindy Martin, and the Federation Roundup Editor Jeanine Maiden.

Four brand-new dancers and 18 angels helped to make our ABC dance in Rochester a great, big hit!

December 20, 2015 – Harbor Squares “Christmas Party” Square Dance, Cloquet.  We started with wonderful food and fellowship sharing.  Competed our holiday fun with exciting dancing provided by our marvelous caller Tom Allen (his lovely wife Sally helped share our holiday spirit dancing fun).
