October 13, 2015 – L & M Squares “6th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit” Square Dance, Fargo, Callers Roger McNeil and Charley Huhtala, Cuer Bernadette McNeil. The organization donated the proceeds from a silent auction, a live auction, the dance fees and a dance fees match.
Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dance/Benefit raised over $1,000 as a donation to FM Breast Friends.

October 16, 2015 – Single Circles “Halloween” Square Dance, Maple Grove, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Jane Simpson. Four squares with dancers from Westonka Whirlers, Wandering Wheels, Single Circles, Hotfoot Stompers, and County Line Squares were present.
Abe Maier called to the dancers from the floor during a dangle dance at Single Circles on Friday night.
Many of the dancers munched on an apple while twirling and chaining to Abe’s calls–all for another dangle!

October 14, 2015 – Spares & Pairs “Happy Birthday Everyone” Square Dance, Bloomington, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuers Ray Belanger and Robin Fryman. Eight squares with dancers from five organizations were present.
Westonka Whirlers claimed a Spares & Pairs banner!

October 11, 2015 – Ar-Dale Dancers, White Bear Lake
Roger McNeil called our October “Crazy Hat” dance and Ken Labau cued rounds. Roger had quite the menagerie of hats that he wore to match the songs he sang. Thanks Roger for a fun dance! Royalty in attendance were Barry and Jennifer Downs from Spares and Pairs, Kay Duffy from South Metro Stars, Debbie Quant from Westonka Whirlers and our own Bonnie Eidman. Banners were given out to Westonka Whirlers and Dakota Grand Squares.
We started lessons a few weeks ago and they are going well. We have 5 or 6 who seem to be consistent in coming, so we are excited to continue with lessons after a couple years of not having them.
We are missing Doris Sunheim who is recovering from a fall in which she broke her leg and clavicle. She is doing well after a hip replacement and is recovering at her son’s in Wisconsin.
We hope to see you in a square at our November dance with Lanny Weakland!

October 9, 2015 – County Line Squares “Crazy Hat” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Roger McNeil, Cuer Bernadette McNeil. Seven squares with dancers from Westonka Whirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, Beaux & Belles, Hotfoot Stompers, Wandering Wheels, South Metro Stars, and County Line Squares were present.

Even though the calendar tells us that autumn officially began on Sept. 23, the weather has been a different story! Due to the efforts of Dixie Holton, Spares and Pairs began collecting club dues and membership to SDM. A BIG thank you to Dick Rueter for the Plus Workshops during the last three months, as well as the energetic ABC dances, the first three weeks of Sept. Lessons are now under way!
If you were at the MN State Fair this year, you more than likely got some dancing in, or watched those who did! The new square dance t-shirts seem to attract positive attention by everyone.
Dick has been joined by Monte Guenzler, a new caller from Rochester, who drives up most weeks and adds to our dancing pleasure. Not too long ago an out-of-town guest, familiar to some of us, Robert Remski was in town and stopped by.
In addition to our own king and queen Jennifer and Barry Downs, we’ve been seeing a lot of queen Bonnie Eidman from Ar Dales! Caller Randy Dougherty joined us last month and added some zest!
