Royalty in attendance were Queen Ursula from Single Circles and Queen Catty from Bloomington Swirlers. Also in attendance were SDM Secretary Bob Meyer and Cuer Ken LaBau. Ar-Dales, Beaux & Belles, and Riverbend Promenaders retrieved their banners.
Spares and Pairs had their “Cupid Cupid” Dance this week! Many colorful hearts could be seen decorating the walls and stage area of the KC Hall Wednesday night, February 11, 2015. On these hearts were written the names of the people who met dancing at our club, and were later married. (Our own club presidents, Ardus and John Vining were among those hearts.)
Larry Fruetel did the calling and Robin Fryman did the cueing. All in attendance seemed to enjoy the exercise, brain work, and fellowship that filled the air!
The newly graduated mainstream students are dedicated to their “brush-up” and can be often seen asking the teacher to review whatever they are needing help with! It is a wonderful time and angels are still working hard to keep the new dancers learning and building their confidence!
Come see us Wednesday nights in Bloomington… we’d love to have you join us!
February 8, 2015 – Our February dance was a huge success with 14 squares from 18 clubs represented. Mike Hogan called and Ken and Barb LaBau were our cuers. Celebrities in attendance were SDM Vice Chair, Don Hanson and Federation President, Janet Sahlstrom. Royalty included Jeanie Schilling, Friendly Twirlers; Shirlee Feneis, Crystal Cross Trailers; Jan Rondeau, Jolly Promenaders; Mickey and Ben Formanack, Square & Twirl and our own Sharon Dohrmann. New dancers are doing well and seemed to be enjoying their new experience. A feature at our dance was taking pictures of all the “sweethearts” that attended and giving them their picture to take home. A big thank you to Gary Anderson and Rich and Sharon Dohrmann for making this a huge success. Everyone enjoyed the potluck which included lots of chocolate and other goodies.
