County Line Squares

January 30, 2015 – County Line Squares “Let’s Party” Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Guest Cuer Jane Simpson.  Nine squares from Westonka Whirlers, Spares & Pairs, Single Circles, Rum River Squares, Hotfoot Stompers, Dakota Grand Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, County Line Squares, and Cambridge Corners enjoyed a fun evening of dancing.  Royalty in attendance were Single Circles King Mel and Queen Ursula, Cambridge Corners King Steve and Queen Mary, and County Line Squares Queen Mavis.  Single Circles claimed a County Line banner.

Spares & Pairs

Please enjoy these new pictures from the last Spares and Pairs Dance held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the KC Hall in Bloomington.

Our caller Larry Fruetel has gained the New Dancers approval as we all keep “sharpening up our mainstream skills” one hour before our regular dance.

John and Ardus Vining, Club Presidents and Don and Jane Hanson, Vice Presidents of Square Dance Minnesota were in attendance, as well as “just one person short” of 10 squares that night!!

Come join us next week as Mike Driscoll will be putting the dancers through their paces from 7:00 – 10:00 and Robin Fryman will be substitute cueing for Ray Belanger all the month of February while Ray is vacationing in Florida with family!

ABC Chanhassen

January 23, 2015 – 16 “new” dancers plus a “new” student came to the first ABC in Chanhassen. Two Come Square Dance officers, Vince and Ken, “angeled” all evening.  Thanks, guys!  Square Dance Minnesota’s chair, LeRoy, and treasurer, Deb, angeled all evening too!  Much appreciated!  Thanks, Becky Rong, for booking the room.  Mark Friday, February 6, on the calendar as the next ABC dance in Chanhassen.  Bring more newbies!

Afternoon Squares

Afternoon Squares had four squares on Thursday January 22, with Abe Maier calling.  We had two new dancers and four dancers that were members two years ago.  All had a great time.

On Thursday February 12, 2015, come join us for a PIZZA PARTY.  Help us celebrate Valentines day.  Pizza provided by the club.

Westonka Whirlers

Everyone including the bears had a “beary” great time at the Westonka Whirlers dance January 17.   Join us February 15 for our “plus” dance featuring “snowmen.”  The following Sunday, February 22, WW will celebrate “birthdays,” especially George Washington’s!

The bears spent the afternoon on the stage watching the dancers having fun and enjoying Mike's great choreography and Ray's cueing.

Spares & Pairs

January 14, 2015 – Spares and Pairs “Winter Wonderland

The first “Sharpen Up Your Mainstream Square Dance Skills” brought out many new dancers (some of which stayed for the dance).  This will continue from 7:00 – 8:00 Wednesdays until March 25 – $2.00 for the hour, or free if you stay for the dance ($6.00).

Leroy Elfmann, Deb Hollimon, and Don Hanson (officers of SDM) were in attendance.  County Line Squares and Bloomington Swirlers both retrieved their banners.

Callers Brian Freed and Mike Driscoll were in attendance.  Wayne and Betty Kubicek kept us moving from 7:00 – 8:00 and for the dance as well!  Ray Belanger and Robin Fryman cued for the round dancers.

** January 28 will be our “Food Shelf” dance.  If you donate $$, please make out the check to V.E.A.P. which serves the South Metro area!**
